There's a saying: when the going gets tough, the tough get going. "In very difficult circumstances some people do indeed get going. They have a spirit that moves them ahead-pushing them to do heroic deeds.What makes these people so tough, so strong in spirit? Why do they turn out to be good? Why do others go so wrong? Jet down your thought about.

These people, who have their heroic deeds, have an encouragement that comes from their relatives. Maybe their relatives say something to support and encourage them, these good sentences what they said will get them tough and they will try to complete something with accomplishment. If they want to be good to get deeds, they have to accpet what their relatives said and follow them with willingness. However, some other people still go so wrong because they don't have willpower and insistence to finish their purpose. When they think that it's difficullt to complete, they will just give up suddenly. That's why I think some people can do heroic deeds, but the others can't do.

When I read the poem, I will know a poet who wrote this poem and the topic first before I read the content of poem. This is important for me because if we know who wrote this poem, we can understand that what is his/her style. Maybe it's rural, social, or lyric style. After knowing the poet, we could read the content clearly with appropriate emotion. I use this strategy for analyzing poetry.

Some of the most exciting narratives pit the villains against the hero in the life-or-death struggle. The tension in such stories aften depends as much on the character of the bad guy or gal as on that of the hero. Write a few sentences describing a villain from a novel, story or movie. What does the character fascinate you?

I think the character, joker, in this movie "The Dark Knight" fascinates me because he is really evil and accursed, and let many citizens hate him thoroughly. He is the only bad guy who wants to defeat and kill him, and the batman doesn't want the joker to be successful. After that, they compete each other with morale. Not only that, the joker's face is scared and terrified, too, when citizens see his face, they feel uncomfortable and try to flee away. That's why I like this character.

Quick Write - Something I'd Like to Inherit

Is the something in your family that you would like to inherit? It could be something material, like a picture (In this poem the speaker has inherited a brooch, or large decorative pin, from her mother.) It could also be a wonderful quality or talent-like the ability to play the piano. Jot down your thoughts.


I would like to inherit my family photo with home in the background. I think this is a great inherited property to give next generation because they can understand who have lived this house before and if they are got something from the people of former generation, they could remember them with that photo and thank them such as money, toys, dulls, and anything as a gift.
