Quick Write - Hope is the thing with feathers

Think of an emotion or a state of mind. You might choose feelings like grief, joy, anger, dreaminess, selfishness or ambition. Then jot down three metaphors in which you identify your subject as something else.


Grief is a running river because if you see something like losing your family, getting a bad grade, you will feel sorrowful then cry continuously.

Joy is a blossomy condition. When you are happy, you will be glad to see your excited body, not like a withered flower.

Anger is a volcano because when you are angry, you will do something strongly and violently as volcano.

Dreaminess is a wonderland. You can see any special scenery, beautiful view, and interesting insects that what you haven’t seen before, it’s illusional.

Selfishness is a hermetic box. No one can get involved in that person, he/she doesn’t hear any suggestion, and then he/she thinks he/she is all right.

Ambition is future. When you really want to chase a goal that you wish, that means you are not far from the future because you are diligent and ambitious to get your wish, maybe you complete to get your goal in your future.
