Almost everyone in PAS has to go to colleges in America, and that also includes me. That's why everyone in PAS should have your own American dream because it depends on your future and further hope.

My American dream is to watch baseball and basketball games, see some movie stars in Hollyhood, and go to good college. I think this is enough for me because too much dreams will get a lot of strains to reach the goal. I like baseball and basketball game a lot, and also I like to watch movie with lots of movie star in it. The first way to reach the goal is to get a high grade from SAT and go to good college in Los Angles, which has my favorite team, Lakers and Dodgers. If you don't get a high grade and go to bad college, you don't have a comfortable and good mood to watch these games. Not only this, Los Angles is near to Hollyhood, I could go there conveniently. Not only could I see the beautiful senery, but also could see some famous movie stars. Before enjoying the games and movie stars, I should be worried about that which college is really appropriate for me. I need to study hard and get a high grade.

School Comparison

Compare and contrast the advantages and disadvantages of going to a school like PAS versus going to local school.

Advantages in PAS and local school are not same. PAS has some advantages for me because we have more holiday than in local school, such as PD day, Christmas break and spring break. These holidays never happen in local school. That means we have a lot of freedom in PAS. Another good thing in PAS is no uniform every school day. advantages in local school is that every class' period is short, only fifty minutes. That means we don't have to seat on the chair too long.

Disadvantage in PAS and local school are different, too. Disadvantages in PAS is having a lot of homework and facing second language. It's difficult for me because we do the homework without Chinese.             How about the disadvantages in local school? We have to wear the uniform and your body should be clean and tidy. That's really strict. All students want to wear any clothes that they want, we don't want to wear it every single day.

Dialogue:

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Deron Williams scored 29 points and Andrei Kirilenko grabbed two key rebounds late as the Utah Jazz rallied from a 19-point first-half deficit for a 102-96 win over a Los Angeles Lakers team that swept them out of the playoffs last season.
Williams tied the score at 96 with 1:16 remaining on a 3-pointer, then stole the ball and passed to Raja Bell for what proved to be the game-winner.
Ron Artest and Paul Gasol both missed shots late for the Lakers (13-3), which saw their five-game winning streak end.
The Jazz won their fourth straight to improve to 12-5.
Kobe Bryant scored 14 straight points for the Lakers in a 2:25 span late in the fourth quarter as the Lakers rallied from an 83-82 deficit to take a 96-91 lead with 2:12 remaining.
But Williams, who Bryant called the best point guard in the league before the game, took over.
He was just 5 of 15 at one point before finishing with a game-high 31 points on 10-of-21 shooting.
Al Jefferson added 20 points and eight rebounds in holding his own against the Lakers' Pau Gasol (21 points, 11 rebounds).

Vengeance

If someone want to revenge to another person, they might use different kinds of methods to do it. If someone killed your relative people who are important to your life, you will revenge to him/her and make him/her die painfully and slowly. Such as a movie called "Saw", you can see from this movie. people in this film are all painfully and slowly died by many different mechanism. You can use one of the mechanism to kill someone who has killed your important person. When that person are painful, you can be cheerful in front of him/her.

What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is to take someone’s work or ideas without doing yourself. Plagiarism also same as cheating, this event would happen from students. When you don’t study or do your homework, you might borrow someone’s homework to copy or use any methods to cheat in the class. That means this guy is lazy and wants to get higher grade. For another example: If you do a project without doing on your own, everyone will say that you are not creative or no ability to do anything. You won’t get any award and encouragement from other people. These situations are called “plagiarism”.

People write journals and in diaries because they want to record the traveling route that they have gone before. Some famous people write diaries because they are interested in noting things they have. Not only this, they might find some unusual and special things, and they want to share with us. I think the author want to talk more about the pearl's bad things. Kino and Juana want to find the method to escape to another place with pearl and they don't want any bad things to happen again. From the previous chapter, we can see that when the pearl is in Kino's hand, the bad things are coming quickly. Such as Kino fights with other people, the house is burned, or the canoe has the hole that make water in. I think those things happen because of the pearl's appearance. If Kino lives without the pearl, he will have a better and peaceful life.

After the midterm was finished, I would change about I need to study hard more and pay attention in the class. I think these are enough to be successful for me and these are only way to get a high grade.

I liked participating to other students because we could share each opinion and suggestion together and learn some communication skill between each other. I think these are very important for me.

What was your favorite activity?

My favorite activity was to play game. One thing we guys play was about vocabulary competition. We separated into three groups, and then compete to each other. Teacher would say a word meaning and we had to guess or know what that word was. If someone knew this word, that guy could stand in front of whiteboard then wrote down the word you thought. If you corrected, your group would get one point. This game was really fun for me.

What did you like the least?

I liked writing essays the least because I didn’t like to write essays and it was really troublesome and boring. I thought this was my problem because I was too lazy to write things. However, I couldn’t blame teacher because he wanted us to improve our writing skills.

What’s one thing that you would like to see in your English classes?

the breathing process in the human body

Breathing is very important for the human body. If you can't breathe, you will die soon. First, you have to open your month to let oxygen flow into your body. the oxygen will go to your lungs. Then, when you give out breath, you have to let carbon dioxide out to your month and then you complete your steps of breathing. My favorite activity is watching movies. However, I have own method to do this activity and I always plan it before I do this activity. A Gift

Something that is not expectable and unwanted may become a gift, and this gift sometimes changes our life. I remembered that was almost five years ago as I was my birthday. Five years ago, I was disagreeable to read books, and when I read the beginning of the sentence, I was going to fall asleep. Because reading books were boring for me, I refused to do that. However, this situation would change when I knew him who was cram school’s head. This chapter talks about selling the pearl's process. After finishing reading this chapter, I felt that Kino was destroyed by himself and this pearl really let Kino become more dangerous. After Kino was associated with the dealer, the dealer didn't think the pearl was really worth, but the dealer gave him a thousand pesos.  In fact, the neighbor didn't argue about the money, but Kino still want the dealer to pay fifty thousand pesos. The end of this chapter, Kino's surrounding was strange and terrible, I felt the evil was coming closely to him. I think Kino didn't just want to care about Coyotito, he might also want to live with the rest of money. I guess that Kino would die with the pearl.

Put yourself in Kino's shoes. How would you react when the doctor came to your door after you found the pearl?

If I was in Kino's shoes, I would tell him that you needed to clean up first. Becasue I was afraid of him had a disease from his foot, I needed the shoes become clean.

After I found the pearl, I would collect it. Because it was valuable and worth, I didn't want to give anyone the pearl. If the doctor came to my door and knock it, I wouldn't open the door and escape him. If I was Kino, I would prepare the tools which was knife and gun, etc. Because the doctor was evil and mean, I had to bring these stuff to against him if it was necessary. If the doctor was more stronger than me, I would stop to against him then escape from the window with the pearl which I found. Both these methods wouldn't let me lose it and no more losses.

response to the pearl - chapter 3

In this chapter, the author thinks that the pearl is equal to hope for the future, and this pearl will let Kino and Juana provide for Coyotito and give him a better life. The discovery of the pearl causes a clear change in the villagers' reactions to Kino and Juana, and it gives Kino great importance. The behavior of the doctor foreshadows great disaster that Kino and Juana should meet with, which the author shows through the no-name thief who attempts to steal the pearl that night. However, I think the author also foreshadows the trouble that Kino would find with pearl buyers. In the description of the pearl buyers, although they are many of them, they are actually only one. The pearl buyers symbolize the mainly outstanding person of La Paz who can exploit Kino.

I wish that I could...

I wish that I could improve my English. English is my second language to learn, and also it is the language that every country would communicate each other. I have to improve my writing skill and speaking in English, so two things I should improve them are speaking more and writing more any time. I need to use unique words to write an essay and don't use simple words. Not only can improve my essay writing, but also can learn some new words from dictionary. And then Speaking English is more challange for me, so I need to speak English with classmates and teachers very often, that can improve my pronunciation, too. That's why I wish I could improve my English.

response to the pearl - chapter 1 and 2

Chapter 1:

I think although Kino and Juana are represented the larger community that they live, this community becomes the important development of the story. It introduces their village a lot and the village takes on its own character. However, the particular show is when Kino and Juana visit the doctor and their neighbors follow in a near procession. The idea of community is also important for various songs which Kino remembers; Kino remembers two songs in this chapter, the Song of the Family and the Song of Evil, may be this story is a fable which defines between good and evil. In this chapter, I think the doctor represents social system that places a value of money in human life, and this shows which obstacles that Kino and Juana face. Between the doctor and Kino are important role to play the doctor refusal to treat Coyotito. Therefore, this presents an adversity that Kino and Juana should suffer.

Chapter 2:

Because the author still talks about the extremely poverty that Kino and Juana live, they can’t do an own canoe and Kino has to perform his job as a peal diver, they must use a canoe that is very old. I think pearl diving is represented an act of desperation and describes Kino’s poverty. Nevertheless, Kino realizes that he has found an impressive pearl when he finds the oyster during the diving. When he realizes the important pearl he has found, he is expected and tensional. In this chapter, this event provides a great hope for Kino and Juana. However, discovering the pearl is difficult that may occur, and the pearl causes Kino to become a brave man and revert to innate behavior, this change will have dangerous consequence.

How can playing game teach you about life?

Although Playing game is not good for student, it also can teach you about life. Life is colorful and plentiful actually; some games’ contents are good for people to think about life. Such as strategy and puzzle game, they are the good example to show the life. If you don’t like to know the knowledge with books, you can play puzzle game on the internet and use game’s way to realize them. That means you learn something with happiness and fun that will change your life become better. That’s why playing game can make your life more meaningful.

the first time to breed animal

The first time to breed animal is almost five years ago, and my family and I bred some fish at home. My family has mom, dad, younger sister, and I, and they wanted to accompany animals afterwards, so and I. we thought that we could have a lot of fun with animals, and every hour and moment to play with them. Although we knew that feeding and cleaning animals are troublesome and boring, we still could enjoy them on the free time without any pressure.

In such a month, and on such a day, my family and I want to pet store to buy some fish. My mom decided to buy fish because she thought fish is easy to breed and we didn’t have to clean it with lots of energy. My dad, sister and I agreed with that statement. We went into the store as soon as we saw a lot of fish swimming in the fishbowl. It’s amazing and surprising, and then we started finding fish that we wanted. Finally, I found the fish which color was blue and yellow, its body is small and long, and its color had a little gloss on its body. Because of its beautiful shape and color, I suggested them to buy three these kinds of fishes, and they agreed. After that, we happily brought them and buy some stuff of fish to home.

When we arrived at home, we started to manage about fish’s house. We had fishbowl, water, decoration (rocks, waterweeds, etc.), lamplight, and filter unit, etc. Although we only spent this time almost one hour, we still tired in this process. After finishing it, we put fish into the fishbowl, and then we watched the fish swimming inside the fishbowl together. We were relaxed and comfortable to watch it, it was attractive.

However, we really didn’t know how to breed fish actually, we just knew to feed them and clean it. Few weeks later, all fish were died and came to the top. And then we guessed that the fish’s age was too short or we didn’t do well on this stuff. They didn’t know how it happened, either and I. After knowing this event, we had to put them to the trash and also missed them because we didn’t have accompanying animals anymore. Although we had a hard time and felt bad, we could remember that we accompany them with happiness and fun when the fish still lived in the fishbowl. That would my unforgettable memory with these cute creature.
